Choosing Myself Daily: Small Intentions. Steady Growth. A Life That Feels Like Mine.

Choosing Myself Daily: Small Intentions. Steady Growth. A Life That Feels Like Mine.

Giving meaning to your life doesn’t require a dramatic reinvention. It’s built through small, daily choices that stack up into something powerful. And yes, this can still be your year.

Hi everyone! One month late but still on time where it counts… Happy New Year 🤍
I see so many new names on the mailing list, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

Today we’re switching gears from candles for a moment and talking about something just as important: starting fresh, staying grounded, and choosing yourself on purpose.

Last year? Whew. It stretched me in ways I didn’t ask for. Life threw challenges that tested my strength, my faith and my focus, all while building a business and trying to hold everything together. I won’t unpack it all, but let’s just say 2025 earned its reputation.

What I learned is this: hard seasons can knock you off your path so quietly you don’t even realize you’ve drifted… until you look up and think, “Wait, how did I get here?”

So this year, instead of overwhelming goal lists that leave me tired before March, I’m choosing one core intention:

Stay grounded. Stay aligned. Don’t lose myself in the chaos.

If you’re craving that same energy, here’s a simpler, more doable way to move through the year with purpose:

1. Choose Focus, Not Just Goals

Yes, write your goals down. But don’t make a never-ending wishlist. Pick one or two priorities that truly matter right now.

Example: Instead of “fix my whole life,” try “Build a consistent morning routine that makes me feel calm and in control.” Clarity beats quantity every time.

2. Get Honest About Your Why

If your reason doesn’t move you emotionally, you’ll quit when it gets inconvenient.

Why do you want that morning routine? To feel less rushed? More confident? More in charge of your time? Your “why” should make you feel something, not just sound good on paper.

3. Shrink the Steps (Make Them Almost Too Easy)

Big goals fail because the steps feel heavy. Make yours light and repeatable.

Using the morning routine example:

  • Lay out clothes the night before
  • No phone for the first 20 minutes
  • Drink water before coffee

That’s it. Not a 10-step Pinterest transformation. Just small, doable moves.

4. Put It on the Calendar

Intentions without timeframes turn into “someday.”

Decide:

  • When are you starting?
  • How often will you do it?
  • When will you check in on your progress?

Example: “Starting Monday, I follow my routine 4 mornings a week for one month.”

Now it’s real.

5. Borrow Accountability

Tell someone. Not the friend who says “you’re fine” no matter what, but the one who lovingly calls you out.

Accountability isn’t pressure. It’s support with a backbone.

And Most Important: Set Daily Intentions

Goals shape your future.
Intentions shape your day.

Each morning ask: “What kind of person am I choosing to be today?” Focused Disciplined? Calm? Courageous?

Then act accordingly, even in small ways. Especially in small ways.

Purpose isn’t found in one giant breakthrough moment. It’s built in the quiet decisions no one claps for. So this year, move with intention. Stay rooted. Choose yourself, again and again. Because if you don’t build a life that feels meaningful to you… who will?

May 2026 be the year you feel more like you than ever before.
Until next time! Keep finding your rhythm and shining your light ✨
